What are Smart lines? How to open and close orders in MetaTrader with this tool

Modified on Thu, 6 Feb at 2:43 PM

Smart lines are a very useful tool you can access after enabling the Mini terminal of our MetaTrader Supreme Edition. These lines will allow you to manage your trades very simply and efficiently since they will allow you to establish both opening and closing levels of operations at a certain level or moment. To do this, you will only have to draw a trend line, a horizontal line, or a vertical line on your graph.

How to open an order with Smart lines?

This process is very simple, all you need to do is draw a line on the chart, and to do this you need to follow these steps:

  • Add the Mini Terminal to your chart
  • Draw or choose a trend line, horizontal or vertical, and press Alt+click at the same time (on Mac Option+click)
  • Select the “New Order” option and set the desired parameters.

After completing this process, this line will become a Smart Line, and the pending order will be activated when the price reaches set level.

How to close an order with Smart Lines?

If you want to close a transaction entirely or partially, you can also use Smart Lines for this purpose. To do so, follow the steps below:

  • Add the Mini Terminal to your chart,
  • Draw or choose a trend line, horizontal or vertical, and press Alt+click at the same time (on Mac Option+click),
  • Select the “Close” option, indicate the order you want to close, and set the desired parameters.

As before, after completing this process, this line will become a Smart Line, and the pending closing order (SL or TP) will be activated when the price reaches set level.

For Smart Lines to work, as with any EA, you must allow "Algo trading" and not close the trading platform. Otherwise, this option will be disabled.
