Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security used to protect your trading account. It requires not only your password but also a temporary code generated by a special authenticator app.
Why should I use it?
- 2FA greatly improves the safety of your trading account by preventing unauthorized access.
- SMS codes are generally reliable, but their delivery may depend on your mobile operator and local network conditions. Codes generated by an authenticator app are created directly on your device and do not rely on SMS.
What is an authenticator app?
An authenticator app is a mobile application that generates one-time verification codes every 30 seconds.
Popular authenticator apps include:
- Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Microsoft Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Authy (iOS / Android)
You can download an authenticator app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), depending on your mobile operating system. Our clients most commonly use the following apps: Google Authenticator (iOS) / Android, Microsoft Authenticator (iOS) / Android, and Authy (iOS) / Android.
How does it work?
- A new 6-digit code is generated every 30 seconds.
- The codes work only on your phone, and cannot be reused.
- Even if someone has your password, they can’t access your account without this code.
How to set up 2FA?
1. Where: Profile – My preferences – Authenticator App (switcher)
2. Download any authenticator app of your choice.
- In your Dashboard, go to Profile – My preferences > Enable 2FA.
- Scan the QR code with the app or enter the setup key manually.
- The app will start generating 6-digit codes.
- Enter the code shown in the app to confirm setup.

3. That’s it! Next time you log in, you’ll be asked to enter a fresh 6-digit code from the app.
